Sixto (6 x 60) (Hex BXP) || L: 152.4, ø: 23.81 Factory: Plasencia Cigars S.A. Nicaragua Blender: Nestor Plasencia Jr. ; Nicaraguan Puro (Estelí, Condega, Jalapa & Ometepe) Wrapper: Binder: Filler: ; In Short: An interesting journey of notes, somewhat unique then bold and unique again. Misses my palate so I think this may be one of the last for me. Construction & Performance: Very eye-catching hard, hexagonal box-press with a Colorado maduro wrapper. That and the black & gold bands just pop. Forgot to nose it before lighting. Draw is great with a thick, plentiful smoke output. Burn-line very even for a box-press. She is a very slow smoke. Dime-stacking ash; great structure with a white to light grey tone. ; ⅓: Starts off with strong musty basement with inklings of cedar shelving and last years pine tree aromatizing the air. A cement chalky, minerality wafting in there too while someone brings down some nutmeg dusted hot chocolates, a hint of wheat malt beneath. Then all of a sudden, sweet soil takes over everything. Slowly returning to the chocolatey malt with a heavily toasted walnut wood-grungy! Almost tatters of Spanish moss wafts along with distant ripe plums. Transitioning into a lightly charred oak with old molasses; still with the malted wheat on the back end. The wheat melds into this vintage, old furniture note-all basement vibes still. ⅔: She continues on the latter part of the first third with no real change but perhaps more wheat and a touch of caramel. Kicks it up a notches several minutes later with a ton of spicy cedar; the chocolate wrapping the malt like stale Whoppers. Back to oak with caramel to finish on a bolder molasses but a creamy nougat lurks in the shadows. A touch of campfire, straw and vintage furniture on the finish as well. ³⁄₃: Chocolate, malted wheat, caramel, oak and cedar still coming through here. A return to mossy musk and vintage furniture. Collapsing to the oak/walnut woods and cedar. Hinted by salty molasses. Near the nub you certainly feel the strength of the cigar. ; Duration: 2hrs 40 mins MSRP: $23.³⁴ Ratings:

Quite enjoyable. I’ve been wanting to try this one for a long time and on my last trip to Canyon Cigar Co., I took the opportunity. The box was almost entirely plumed out so I grabbed the least covered and dried her out for over a month now. I’m still much more a fan of the Edmundo I’s profile than the II’s. This one heard Maduro and went Mas Duro instead.
; Pairing: Knob Creek No. 9 Single Barrel Reserve Bourbon. Drinks very hot for 60ABV. Cherry, vanilla, loads of oak and caramel-I can see where they get smoky from but more on the finish. Damn near perfect pairing with the Alma Fuerte!
